Proverbs 6:23-28 For the commandment is a lamp, and the law a light; reproofs of instruction are the way of life, to keep you from the evil woman, from the flattering tongue of a seductress. Do not lust after her beauty in your heart, nor let her allure you with her eyelids. For by means of a harlot a man is reduced to a crust of bread; and an adulteress will prey upon his precious life. Can a man take fire to his bosom, and his clothes not be burned? Can one walk on hot coals, and his feet not be seared?
Leader, because of the time in which we live, it would have been more comfortable to simply ignore chapters 6 and 7 of Proverbs. However, since the wisest and richest man in history allocated more space to the dangers of immorality than to thoughts on business acumen, there must be something to it… I bless you with your spirit growing strong enough to steer your soul and body away from fleshly temptations. I bless you with wisdom to not fall for the lie that your choice to engage in prostitution or extramarital affairs will have no ill effect on you or your relationships. I bless you with escaping the hurt as well as remaining innocent of causing such, brought on by a betrayal of trust and dishonouring of your own body. I bless you with being blameless, avoiding the chambers of death (of your self-worth, reputation, conscience, and righteousness before God).
Proverbs 6:32-33; 7:23, 26, 27 Whoever commits adultery with a woman lacks understanding; he who does so destroys his own soul. Wounds and dishonour he will get, and his reproach will not be wiped away. Till an arrow struck his liver. As a bird hastens to the snare, he did not know it would cost his life. For she has cast down many wounded, and all who were slain by her were strong men. Her house is the way to hell, descending to the chambers of death.
