Sidestep anxiety

Philippians 4:6,7 “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Leader, I bless you with the ability to overcome anxiety. In a world where being always busy, always stressed and always consuming have become the dubious yardstick for success, I bless you with guarding your heart and mind from falling into the pit of anxiety caused by striving and toiling. I bless you with keeping it simple and with getting the basics right. Your heavenly Father delights in giving you what you need; it builds our faith and strengthen our relationship with Him when we ask Him – verbally acknowledging our dependence on Him. I bless you with being intentional about giving thanks and with experiencing how hope is kindled and anxiety subsides as we celebrate His good gifts, big and small (James 1:17). I bless you with starting your day right – in the presence of God, so that His peace can sustain you during the day. I bless you with ‘checking in’ with Him regularly, just because you can but also to remind your body and soul that He’s got your back. I bless you with accepting His invitation to not give in to anxiety.

Luke 12:29-31 “And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind. For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things. But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you.”
