Genuine joy

Psalm 63:11 “But the king shall rejoice in God; everyone who swears by Him shall glory; but the mouths of those who speak lies shall be stopped.”

Leader, I bless you with the same joy King David felt when he wrote this Psalm – a joy that flies in the face of your circumstances, a joy devoid of anything superficial, a joy that causes your natural and spiritual enemies to recoil because it is so utterly (and literally) out of this world. Like David, I bless you with being thirsty for more of God, not only for what He can give because He is a generous Father who delights in giving good things to those who acknowledge Him, but more of His character, more of His glory. I bless you with the capacity to be able to carry such weight. As you spend time with Him, not to do anything but just to be with Him, I bless you with what David experienced: a soul that is satisfied as with marrow and fatness (abundance), protection in the shadow of His wings, being upheld by His right hand, removal of enemies. I bless you with having a Psalm 63 day!

Psalm 63:1-10 “O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory. Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You. Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, and my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips. When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches. Because You have been my help, therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice. My soul follows close behind You; Your right hand upholds me. But those who seek my life, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth. They shall fall by the sword; they shall be a portion for jackals.”
