Selective hearing

Genesis 3:5 “For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

Leader, I bless you with discernment to recognise the half-truths – more dangerous than lies – couched as good advice from others. I bless you with instinctively weighing each word against what you know about God’s character and your journey with Him. And if you do not have that frame of reference, I bless you with being keenly aware of His Spirit stirring peace in you or caution. I bless you with wisdom to spot the traps others might set for you for whatever reason – competition, disrespect, ignorance, etc.  I bless you with good, honest, gracious council. I bless you with guarding your eyes, ears and heart from things that negatively impact you. Be selective with what you allow into your space, with what/who you allow to speak into your life. I bless you with seeing God’s fingerprints in every day, with open eyes to see His beauty in a new way and to experience Him as wholly set apart from how the world/business/politics operates. I bless you with fearless determination to make your mark in the world as He shows you the best way.

Philippians 4:8 “For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honourable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things.”
