Truth and nothing but

truthProverbs 12:17-19 He who speaks truth declares righteousness, But a false witness, deceit. There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword, But the tongue of the wise promotes health. The truthful lip shall be established forever, but a lying tongue is but for a moment.

Leader, in a world where ‘truth’ is increasingly subject to individual comfort and self-justification, someone with influence who recognises truth is a breath of fresh air. I bless you with conversations that meet the plumb line of God and give light and life. I bless you with the ability to speak the truth in any circumstance in such a way that the dignity of the hearer remains intact. I bless you with your truthful counsel enjoying long life, delighting God. I bless you with your identity being established so that you have no need of immature boasting about your abilities. I bless you to rule with righteousness over that which the Lord entrusted to you.

Proverbs 12:21-24 No grave trouble will overtake the righteous, But the wicked shall be filled with evil. Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who deal truthfully are His delight. A prudent man conceals knowledge, But the heart of fools proclaims foolishness. The hand of the diligent will rule, But the lazy man will be put to forced labor.
