Authority to lead

Judges 4:6 “Then she sent and called for Barak the son of Abinoam from Kedesh in Naphtali, and said to him, Has not the Lord God of Israel commanded, ‘Go and deploy troops at Mount Tabor; take with you ten thousand men of the sons of Naphtali and of the sons of Zebulun.”

Leader, I bless you to be a leader of leaders. Your fellow leaders and those you report to are not above needing encouragement, or even a nudge to do what needs to be done. I bless you with favour so that your encouragement, advice and correction will not only be spot-on, but will also be received well. I bless you with grace to receive the same from those with a lower level of authority – being open to others’ input does not diminish your authority, it adds to it. I bless you with experiencing the camaraderie and growth that comes from submitting to one another, and from acknowledging God’s gifts in each person to help us along our own journey.

1 Peter 5:5 “Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for ‘God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.’”
