A good heart

Psalm 51:17 “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart— These, O God, You will not despise.”

Leader, I bless you with not giving in to the exhausting temptation of thinking you must appease God by doing all sorts of good works. God longs, first and foremost, for relationship. Everything else follows from that. I bless you with cultivating the right heart before Him. A heart that is honest about its weaknesses and predilection to act contrary to what God wants. I bless you with finding that the more intimate your relationship with Him, the more authentic you become and the easier it is to come to Him in true humility. I bless you with the freedom that comes with realising the strength of humility – Moses is said to have been most humble man and he led millions of grumbling people through a desert!

Numbers 12:3 “Now the man Moses was very humble, more than all men who were on the face of the earth.”
