Make it a slow waltz

Proverbs 21:5 “The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, but those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty.”

Leader, I bless you with being diligent in all your doings – your thinking, preparation, understanding an issue or need, strategising solutions, implementation, etc. I bless you with not being swept along in the sea of seekers of ‘low-hanging fruit’ simply to appease a shareholder or constituents who demand quick progress. Very few things of lasting quality happen quickly. I bless you with understanding that attaining your vision and leaving a legacy is worth giving proper thought to. Unlike changing a course or developing and implementing an intervention that requires sufficient planning to be sustainable, your words have the power to leave lasting impressions in seconds – I bless you with using them wisely. I bless you with not being hasty in your words. I bless you with words, and the thought processes that lead to words, that build up, give direction and contribute to reaching the goals in partnership with your people who want to give their best because your words and actions make them feel part of something bigger than the daily slog.

Proverbs 29:20 “Do you see a man hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him.”
