Prevent partiality

Acts 10:34,35 “So Peter opened his mouth and said: “Truly I understand that God shows no partiality, but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.”

Leader, I bless you with overcoming that almost innate habit of showing partiality. We are quick to judge on outward appearances, supported by our own preconceived ideas. I bless you with being generous and life-giving in your regard of others. I bless you with rising above prejudice to a place where you are quick to identify the jewels in every person in your sphere of influence. I bless you with quickly dealing with any pride or low self-esteem that might want a foothold in your life. Both of these fuel partiality and neither of these is the truth. I bless you with being a blessing (a godsend, a benefit) to those around you because you extend to them honour, respecting their dignity, regardless of who they are. I bless you with witnessing how they blossom because they are given the space to do so. I bless you with judging fairly and righteously in all circumstances.

Deuteronomy 1:16,17 “And I charged your judges at that time, ‘Hear the cases between your brothers, and judge righteously between a man and his brother or the alien who is with him. You shall not be partial in judgment. You shall hear the small and the great alike. You shall not be intimidated by anyone, for the judgment is God’s. And the case that is too hard for you, you shall bring to me, and I will hear it.’”
