Brace that backbone

Proverbs 11:1-3 “Dishonest scales are an abomination to the Lord, but a just weight is His delight. When pride comes, then comes shame; but with the humble is wisdom. The integrity of the upright will guide them, but the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them.”

Leader, I bless you with a character saturated with integrity. I bless you with having the strength of conviction to turn your back on anything that might tempt you to lower your guard, take the easy way out, or present yourself and your business as something other than the truth. It is interesting that in this scripture pride is sandwiched between two qualities of integrity. May pride find no foothold in you. Neither the pride of false scales – exalting yourself over others, condoning ‘creative’ accounting to manage your reputation, appropriating things for yourself out of greed; nor the pride of deceitful stubbornness where your way is the only way. I bless you with being pleasantly surprised at the depth of potential of those around you – and with the requisite humility to be able to see and celebrate the treasures in others, equally. I bless you with God’s delight over your integrity, His wisdom active in your life, and your way made sure and prosperous because of your innocence.

Psalm 24:3,4 “Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, nor sworn deceitfully.”
