Doing follows being

Galatians 1:10 “Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.”

Leader, I bless you with choosing wisely where your allegiance lies. It is easier said than done not to care what others think, but I bless you with incrementally moving away from finding your worth and identity in the opinion of others. I bless you with not exhausting yourself by making the mistake to think you can win the approval of God by doing/working for Him – rather, I bless you with the realisation that above all, being with Him and being yourself wherever He has placed you, using the gifts, talents and opportunities He has given you, carry much more weight. I bless you with all your doings being a natural and gratifying outflow from your being, leading to authenticity rather than masquerading because you worry what people think. I bless you with experiencing, in tangible ways, God’s approval because you consider His opinion worthier than that of fallible humans.

Ecclesiastes 4:4 “And I saw that all toil and all achievement spring from one person’s envy of another. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.”
