Right heart, right words

Isaiah 50:4 “The Lord God has given Me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary. He awakens Me morning by morning; He awakens My ear to hear as the learned.”

Leader, I bless you with the right words in any situation. I bless you with having compassion on those who are weary and with being intentional about your encouragement and advice. This would mean, however, that you cannot treat people as carbon copies, easily placated by the same clichés. I bless you with astute insight to rightly discern a situation or a person’s frame of mind to be able to impart exactly what that person needs. I bless you with a renewed appreciation of the diverse group of people around you. I bless you with the knowledge that He who wakes you every morning, also saw fit to wake them, and that His purposes for them are as perfect as it is for you. I bless you with a willingness to really listen to others and to learn from them. It will keep you connected, authentic and humble, which carries a blessing in itself.

1 Peter 5:5 “Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
